New Delhi - On December 12, 1911, George V, the then Emperor of India along with Queen Mary made the announcement to shift the Capital of the British Raj from Calcutta to Delhi at the Delhi Durbar and laying the foundation stone for Viceroy's residence in the Coronation Park. The capital city can be easily divided into two parts - Old & New Delhi. While Shahjahan built a new walled city which served as the capital of Mughal Empire from 1649 to 1857 AD and is now regarded as Old Delhi has many ancient & medieval monuments, archaeological sites & remains. The New Delhi was planned & built by leading 20th century British architects Sir Edwin Lutyens and Sir Herbert Baker and contracted to Sir Sobha Singh. The present President House, Indian Parliament & other Government Secretariat buildings were built by them.
For all those fitness freak, an early morning walk along the colonial lanes of Lutyens' Delhi can be quite refreshing and for more adventurous one's, an extension to the Rajpath can be quite enthralling. Breakfast at the hotel followed by a guided tour of historic city of Delhi. The city where one can experience the influence of the many rulers who ruled this region, a city built and destroyed and re-built over seven times. The guided tour takes you to the monuments that depict the different eras. The tour includes visit to the magnificent Red Fort (exterior), the Jama Masjid - one of the Asia's largest mosque, enjoy the cycle rickshaw ride in the narrow by lanes of Old Delhi visiting Chawri Bazar, Dariba Kalan (silver market) witnessing the century old business markets. It is the largest wholesale market of Asia. Later visit Rajghat - the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi - the "Father of the Nation". Afternoon tour of New Delhi to include Humayun's Tomb, drive past through Rashtrapati Bhawan (Viceroy's House), Parliament Building and halt for a photo stop at India Gate - war memorial. Lastly end your tour with visit to Qutab Minar - 73 mt. tall minaret.
Breakfast at hotel and later drive around 0800 hours to south east of Delhi to famous city of Agra - the land of the seventh wonder of the world - Taj Mahal. On arrival, met with your guide at Itimad-Ud-Daulah (baby Taj). Later assisted and check into hotel. Post lunch visit the grand Red Fort - built in red sandstone by Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan. Witness some of the breathtaking views of the Taj Mahal standing beautifully by the flowing river Ganges. Drive through to Mehtab Bagh to capture the beautiful Taj Mahal from the other end of the river.
Evening at leisure or visit the workshop to witness the art of Pietra Dura - A unique art of inlay work of cutting marble and fitting it with highly polished colored stones to create images. The same as perfected in the architecture of Taj Mahal.
Dawn-view visit of Taj Mahal to witness the wonder white marble which seems to change colours owing to it's porous nature to absorb light that adapts to the changing colour of the sun. A UNESCO World Heritage Site which was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal is best viewed & enjoyed in the non-chaotic and less crowded time of the day. The perfectly symmetrical monument standing tall since 1653 AD took 22 years & 20,000 laborers' to complete. The unquestionable beauty of this piece of extravagance can only be treasured by visiting it! Return to hotel for breakfast. Later drive to Jaipur En-route visit Fatehpur Sikri, The erstwhile capital of the Mughal Empire built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See Darbar-e-Aam, Palaces, Panch Mahal and Taansen Seat. On arrival at Jaipur met & assisted to check in hotel room.
A fairly early breakfast (0730 hrs) at the hotel and then a small excursion to the grand Amer Fort. Ascend the fort on a gaily-decorated elephant back. Experience the kingly palace buildings. Later visit (1030 hrs) the City Palace museum compound visiting the halls containing textiles, arms & weapons, antiques of the Royal family of Jaipur amidst their private residence overlooking the compound. Enjoy lunch at the City Palace cafe. Continue your tour to Jantar Mantar - the Royal Astronomical Observatory having instruments from 1728 AD for measuring celestial planet & star positions. Towards evening (1700 hrs) you will visit the hand block printing factory to witness the famous skill of the people of Jaipur. You can enjoy shopping around the famous bazaars of Jaipur city where one can choose from precious gems to variety of handicrafts etc. Overnight at hotel.
Breakfast at hotel followed by drive to Jodhpur - the city founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha. It is the second largest city in Rajasthan after Jaipur. On arrival transferred to hotel for check-in. Early evening village safari by jeep to the Bishnoi village to see the hand pottery, Bishnoi huts and local handicrafts. Bishnois are the famous community which is the protector of the wildlife. Overnight at hotel.
Breakfast at hotel followed by a guided city sightseeing tour including Mehrangarh Fort - one of the largest forts in India, Umaid Bhawan Palace (now a grand heritage hotel) an architectural wonder, Jaswant Thada - a 19th century royal cenotaph, Mandore Gardens - The beautiful gardens with high rock terraces make it a popular picnic spot & walk through the Clock Tower - In the old city, clock tower is a prominent land mark. But main attraction is the Sadar Market. The market has kept alive the old 'haat bazaar' culture. Overnight at hotel.
Relaxed breakfast at hotel then driven to Udaipur. Enroute stopover at Ranakpur, to visit the famous Jain temples. Further driven to Udaipur, on arrival transfer to hotel for check-in. Evening free of shopping in local bazaar or free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Later transferred to Udaipur airport to board direct flight for Mumbai -India's commercial capital, industrial powerhouse, busiest port, fashion capital, home to "Bollywood" (India's Hollywood), world's biggest textile market - the list goes on and on. On arrival, met and transfer to hotel for check in. Evening at leisure to enjoy a walk on the Marine Drive or Gateway of India. Overnight at hotel.
Breakfast at hotel followed by met & introduced with your guide for a city sightseeing tour of Mumbai including the Prince of Wales Museum is one of the best-known Museums of the Country. Architecturally it is an exquisite example of the Indo-Saracenic style, popular in India during the early part of this century, Juhu Chowpatty (beach), Gateway of India - an architectural marvel that scores over other buildings in Mumbai. Further transferred to the Mumbai Central railway station, the historic building known as the Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), previously known as the Victoria Terminus during British Rule is an outstanding example of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture in India, blended with themes deriving from Indian traditional architecture. Board the express train to Aurangabad at 1447 hrs to arrive by 2035 hrs. Aurangabad has been a place of great importance due to it's location on the famous "Silk Route" that traversed across the breadth of Asia to reach Europe. Textiles, embroidered finery and various kinds of beads made in nearby Paithan were exported to the markets of Greece, Rome and Egypt. On arrival at 2035 hrs, met and transferred to hotel for overnight stay.
Breakfast at hotel followed by guided excursion to the Ajanta Caves - the marvellous architectural wonder that depicts the rich legacy of India. Acknowledged as the world heritage site. PM city sightseeing of Aurangabad visiting Bibi ka Maqbara - an architectural gem of Aurangabad a (a mausoleum with a marked resemblance to the Taj Mahal) Daulatabad Fort - it was the prime fortress of many successive dynasties in the Deccan. Daulatabad is famous for its series of trick defences, secret escape routes. The Daulatabad fortress was earlier known as 'Devgiri'. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, excursion to Ellora caves- Ellora can be divided into three groups and roughly three periods: Buddhist, Hindu and Jain, these caves are created from living rock. The Buddhist and Jain caves are ornately carved, but are relatively calm, while the Hindu caves seem to burst with divine energy. Evening transfer to Aurangabad airport to board direct flight for Mumbai at 1720 hrs. Arrive Mumbai at 1815 hrs. Internal airport transfer to international terminal for onward flight. Or, met on arrival in Mumbai airport and transfer to airport hotel for wash 'n' change with dinner at an Indian restaurant before departure late evening / following morning to international terminal (depending on your flight schedule).
